Overview
Camp Glen Brook is a year-round experiential education facility in Southwestern New
Hampshire. We are seeking the newest member of our year-round staff to serve as an educator,
mentor, and director, and to bring a focus of environmental sustainability and homesteading
skills to the development of the program.
We are looking for someone to join as a leader in our passionate and productive community,
with a focus on the Gap Semester Program, as well as our Spring and Summer programs.
General Responsibilities
● Plan, direct, supervise, and provide dynamic gap programs for 18 – 21 year olds in
keeping with Glen Brook’s mission. Hire, manage, and support the Gap staff.
● Help with hiring, training, and management of Summer Camp Staff, and assume a
leadership role in Summer Camp.
● Support other spring programs
Specific Responsibilities
● Develop curriculum for Gap programs and work with Glen Brook staff to coordinate
interdepartmental overlap in the curriculum
● Plan daily, weekly, and monthly schedule for programs
● Hire and supervise Gap Program Instructor(s) and adjunct staff
● Oversee Enrollment process:
○ Follow all enrollment protocols and timelines
○ Communicate with applicants
■ Evaluate each applicant; check references, medical follow-ups, etc.
○ Maintain relationships with schools, guidance departments, and education
consultants
● Plan and execute an annual program review and annual performance review of all gap
staff
● Help to market the program
● Maintain membership and accreditation in the Gap Year Association
● Assume a leadership role in Summer Camp, and assist in management and training of
Summer Staff
● Participate in spring school and family programs delivery at Glen Brook
Qualifications:
Love of teaching and mentoring youth, with documented and referenced previous
teaching experience.
● Experience with outdoor education, mentoring, trip leading, farming, and cooking.
● Experience in a broad scope of environmental sustainability, and a passion for teaching
both hands-on projects and classroom content on these topics
● Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion: demonstrated cultural competence and
ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

We work toward this mission through place-based, experiential learning rooted in sustainable farming, homesteading skills, nature connection, intentional community, and self-inquiry.
Our program is nested within Camp Glen Brook, a year-round outdoor education center in southern New Hampshire, right in the heart of New England. Camp Glen Brook has offered Waldorf education-inspired programs– including summer camp, school, family programs, and Gap – on its 250-acre forest and farm facility since 1946.
