Wilderness Guide
Intern and apprentice openings for the 2025 summer season.
June 1- October 15.
We provide room and board, private rooms with shared bathrooms and fantastic food. We are a family run business with a team spirit of helping others.
We operate in Katmai National Park, Lake Clark National Park and McNeil River Bear Sanctuary. Our clients come to see and photograph Grizzly/Brown Bears and other wildlife. To understand what our operation is about I suggest you look at our website,
http://www.alaska-grizzlies.com. Our internship/apprentice program is very rewarding for someone that desires to be in raw untouched wilderness. It is not for everyone as there is a steep learning curve and a lot of hard work.
The qualifications.
1 able to stay calm around bears in a wilderness environment.
2 able to comminate clearly with good leadership skills.
3 willing and able to learn and follow our strict safety procedures.
4 willing to fly as a passenger in a small aircraft on a regular basis.
5 good swimming skills.
6 good physical condition.

Preferential consideration will be given to applicants with a background in one or more of the following.
NOALS Wilderness and First Aid Training
Photography with a strong understand of Lightroom and the editing process.
Birding with excellent knowledge and identification skills of North America Birds.
Whitewater Rafting
Fly Fishing
Qualifications:
