Overview

The BLM Liaison – Dillon Field Office develops, supports and implements projects throughout the Dillon Field Office (FO) landscape in partnership with MCC. The individual will support current and future restoration initiatives and will specifically support MCC Crew and Individual Placement (IP) work at the FO each year. The position will work closely with BLM and MCC staff to plan and implement projects, support NEPA requirements for future projects, plan and lead outreach/volunteer events and directly support MCC AmeriCorps members hosted by the FO. This position is currently funded through the fall of 2028.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources or related field
• Ability to develop and meet deadlines
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences
• Proficient with computer programs such as Word, Excel, Dropbox and Google Suite
• Able and willing to travel and work a variable schedule, including overnight travel for in-person meetings, public presentations and field work/assessments

Required Skills:

• A valid driver’s license and ability to be insurable per MCC/BLM parameters
• Able to obtain BLM Security Clearance (background check)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with Conservation Corps Crews/IP members
• Previous experience in wildlife habitat, drought, climate, riparian, recreation and/or grasslands related work
• Experience in partnering with local, state and federal agencies/organizations
• Experience in developing outreach plans and implementing outreach strategies in diverse settings to diverse stakeholders
• Experience with a national service program
• Experience with ArcGIS and/or other mapping software
• Previous supervision exp
