About Cape Eleuthera Island School (CEIS)

At CEIS our primary expeditions include but are not limited to sea kayaking, sailing, camping, free diving, SCUBA diving, and island exploration. We use expeditions to provide students with the chance to learn more about themselves, the history and culture of Eleuthera, and the natural world.

Hand in hand with expeditionary learning is our remote island location. Risk Management is essential to safely operating our programs, especially while on wilderness expeditions. A significant part of this role is to conduct annual risk management review and act as the sounding board for our student activities on both a day-to-day and expedition based level working alongside our medical team and leadership to update and manage our Risk Management policies, adapt them as program needs and industry standards evolve, and educate and train our community in this regard.
