About Portland Waldorf School

The PWS Outdoor Program aims to foster a sense of wonder, challenge, and confidence in our students, using the Great Outdoors as the catalyst. Each grade has one week-long outdoor trip per year, where they have the opportunity to both grow as a class and as individuals. We use the scaffolding model for our trip progressions, starting with base camping, moving to backpacking, and eventually on to Sea Kayaking in the San Juan Islands!
