A versatile position within a dynamic, hardworking, international non-profit organization that provides relief to survivors of natural disasters. This position is responsible for managing the technical needs of a successful program and being a partial instructor for the Wildfire Chainsaw Training Program.

Reports to Wildfire Mitigation Project Manager
Roles reporting to position Wildfire Mitigation Site Supervisor, Site Supervisor trainee, Team Leaders
Approximate number of reports 2-6
Oversee Team Leaders, Site Supervisors, and mitigation project sites on a day to day basis.
In coordination with the Project Manager and U.S Response Manager implement chainsaw training and safety protocols on-site and in classrooms.
Assist in facilitating S-212 equivalent classroom training and workshops.
Communicate assessment information and any special considerations to Team Leaders/Site supervisors before starting new sites.
Assess new sites and projects as needed.
Offers skilled troubleshooting on chainsaw operations sites.
Implements a system of evaluation, including follow up, one on ones, and team meetings to ensure chainsaw operators are supported and trained appropriately.
Procure and repair chainsaw equipment as needed.
Organize and maintain chainsaw equipment and inventory.
Actively participate in teaching dynamic risk assessments on sites.
Assist in coordinating Wildfire Mitigation project that includes but are not limited to tree planting, brush clearing, hazard tree felling, fuel break construction, burn pile construction, and defensible space construction
To be considered for this position you must be fully vaccinated. The term fully vaccinated refers to when an individual has received either the single-shot vaccine or both doses of the two-shot vaccine, and two weeks have elapsed since the final dose.

Education High School Diploma or equivalent.
Related Experience Minimum of 6 months experience in chainsaw operations (wilderness or urban.) Experience in leading teams of volunteers in post-disaster environments. Previous All Hands and Hearts, AmeriCorps, or Peace Corps experience preferred.
Work Environment/Conditions Communal living environment; high-stress situations.
Special Competencies/Certifications Good written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment. S-212 certification, red-card, or proof of being a Type 2 or B Sawyer would be preferred.
