Community Food Resident Job Description

Alzar School is seeking a Community Food Resident (CFR) to support the school’s meal preparation and daily operations. This involves planning and preparing meals, putting away food orders, and organizing food for expeditions. Additionally, the CFR may participate in outdoor expeditions, activities, and residential life duties as appropriate based on skills and work experience.

The successful candidate will have a proven professional track record, including work with similar organizations or companies. Exceptional candidates will have experience working with and around teenagers, commercial food preparation, and catering to large crowds.

This is a dynamic and demanding position, important to the long-term success of the school. As such, the CFR must be prepared to be a flexible, committed member of a team.

The position is part-time (estimated at 20 hours per week) with an hourly pay rate of $13/hour and the flexibility to be a year-round or seasonal position (Spring and Fall semester months). On-campus, shared housing (a yurt with other residential life staff) is provided, in exchange for commensurate residential life duties (which will depend on the skill of the candidate).
