Seeking an individual for a temporary term of up to 6-months, no less than 2-months, starting in May 2022.

HOURS: Full time at 40 hours per week, typically 4 work days at 10 hours per day
TEMPORARY TERM: Minimum of 2 month, up to and ideally 6-months

Job Purpose: This laborer position performs weed control in support of restoration. As qualified, needed and directed, this position assists with other restoration work and in other operations such as facilities and property maintenance and visitor services support.

Primary Job Duties:

Identify weeds on American Prairie deeded and leased lands maintaining detailed electronic data using GPS based software applications.
Perform weed control and removal through application of herbicides.
Mechanically remove undesirable plants with chainsaw, brush mower, and other tools.
Operate skid steer, tractor, ATV and/or UTV to access and remove weeds.
As needed and directed, perform maintenance tasks such as landscaping, light carpentry and finishing work, minor plumbing and electrical, and basic repair and upkeep of motorized and non-motorized vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Complete work indoors and primarily outdoors in varied and extreme weather conditions, in remote and isolated areas including rustic and uninhabited structures, and traveling across rough and unmaintained terrain.
Complete job duties to the specification set forth by supervisor in a manner that meets safety, health and sanitation standards and policies including appropriate use of safety and protective equipment.
Assist in the monitoring of infrastructure while completing job duties to identify and report real or potential items of interest or concern whether regarding property, land, livestock, wildlife or people.
Report accidents, injuries, damage or near misses immediately to Safety Manager.
Complete accurate paper and electronic records in accordance with asset management and safety protocols.
Respond as directed to assist in emergencies or unanticipated needs such as facility or visitor issues.
