Avid4 Adventure, voted on Outside Magazine’s Top 50 Best Places to Work list for its 5th year in a row, is hiring an Operations Specialist in Colorado. This position will support the daily operational needs of our expedition and resident camp programs. The position is responsible for the food packout and ongoing management, inventory, and maintenance of equipment. During the summer camp season, the Operations Specialist will support camp directors with their equipment needs and will work closely with the Operations Supervisor to solve a wide variety of problems. This position will wear a multitude of hats- from gear fixer, organizer, food specialist, to quality control and is responsible for responding to unexpected events at camp and working to solve them. Work closely with Operations Supervisor to learn best practices and to ensure all programs are receiving the support needed.
Maintain Avid4’s bike fleet and perform basic bike repairs.
Lead the logistical flow of training equipment from training to camps
Management of vans and trailers: ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting when problems arise; in no way does this mean knowledge of any vehicle and/or trailer maintenance, but the organization and ability to ensure that all fleet needs are accomplished in a timely manner.
Ensure all gear is clean and in good working order at all camps. Make repairs or retire equipment when necessary.
Be a physical presence at each camp location to support camp- to deliver materials, fix gear, etc.
Assist with pack in at the end of the summer. Organize all gear, inventory materials and fix broken items.
Assist with end of season gear sales.
Own the food packout for Colorado Expeditions
This position will require use of your personal vehicle to travel to camp or program locations. Mileage will be reimbursed based on the current Avid4 Adventure mileage policy.
2 years of relevant experience in the camping or adventure sports industry
Must be 21+ years old
Experience with bike maintenance is required.
Comfortable with Google's G-suite platform for email, spreadsheets and documents.
Experience in one or all of our core sports- climbing, biking & paddling.
Current driver's license. For California- Out of state license OR CDL holder (or willingness to obtain ASAP)
Minimum of Basic First Aid and CPR from a nationally recognized provider.
