Overview
Each year we employ hundreds of Seasonal Staff to serve thousands of campers and our Directors and Assistant Directors are an integral part of this success. Each Camp Leadership Team is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality and efficient programs. We are seeking an Assistant Director of Operations for our Camp Windy Peak (Grades 6th-12th) based in Bailey, CO.
In this role you will
Oversee the success of our operational aspects of camp including Kitchen, Facilities, and Clinic.
Supervise, be a direct support and provide feedback for all operational support staff including Head Chef, Kitchen Staff, Nurse, and Facilities Supervisors.
Ensure all safety and compliance standards are being adhered to in the Kitchen and Clinic.
Complete behind-the-scenes administrative work such as inventorying, ordering supplies, scheduling, and problem solving when needed.
Own communication with our off site outsources, ensuring they have correct camper numbers and signed waivers for each experience.
Be a positive role model to our campers and staff, helping support them as needed, and taking initiative as a leader around camp
Sub in as an instructor to provide breaks on an as needed basis.
Important Details
Work Schedule: Overnight camps are a 24/7 operation. The leadership team will create a schedule that provides you with one evening off/week and segments of other time off throughout the week.
Position Duration: In person Camp Leadership training May 1 – 3. Additional pre-season training takes place in Colorado May 16 – 29; overnight camp programs run from May 31 through August 1.
Compensation: Pay is determined based on position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure. Starting rate: $660/week

Relevant Certification Bonuses:
Wilderness First Aid: $100
Wilderness First Responder/EMT: $350
Additional bonuses available for $100 – $400 per certification paid end-of-season
Required Skills:
Your Background
All Camp Leadership must qualify to drive camp vehicles, i.e., be 20 years or older by the start of camp with a valid driver’s license
Some prior management experience preferred
Must have demonstrated expertise in at least one of our core sports (paddling, hiking, climbing, mountain biking)
Must possess a minimum of CPR and First Aid Certification at the start of camp. Wilderness First Aid (or WFR/EMT) and CPR certification preferred.
