About Avid4 Adventure
Founded in 2004 in the heartland of outdoor adventure, Boulder, Colorado, Avid4 Adventure is the premier outdoor adventure summer camp for kids. We lead campers on authentic outdoor adventures that include rock climbing, mountain biking, SUP & kayak paddling, and more! With a mission of empowering kids to choose active outdoor lifestyles, our programs are designed to launch kids into a lifetime of outdoor adventure. We believe that our environment and our people are just as important as profit and we are proud to be a Certified B Corp and consistently in the top 50 on Outside Magazine’s Best Places to Work.
A Day in Your Avid4 Adventure Life
You begin each day at your day camp basecamp, typically at a local school, where you will have a quick meeting with the entire staff of about 20, then pull your equipment for your day of adventure with your co-instructor. After reviewing the logistics for the day and safety checking your gear, your campers will arrive and you will have some time for team building activities, equipment checks, and a game or two. Then you’ll load into your 15 passenger van and head to a day of climbing, paddling, biking, etc. (These days, many of our programs skip the basecamp and meet at the rec site to get a bigger day of adventure!). Upon arriving at the recreation area, you’ll run through a safety briefing, then begin instruction for the day (you will learn EVERYTHING you need to know about how to instruct these activities at our staff training). You’ll teach, play, learn and laugh as you guide your campers through a day of outdoor education. From there, you’ll wrap up the activity, load up the van, and head back to basecamp to hand kiddo’s back to parents and to share the successes that they had during the pick-up process.
