Overview

Big Sky Youth Empowerment’s adventure-based group mentoring program is seeking a unique and
highly motivated individual for a Program Manager position based in Bozeman, Montana. This
individual will work with vulnerable teenagers to facilitate a group social emotional life skills curriculum
paired with experiential adventures.

The ideal candidate is a creative, enthusiastic, and energetic professional, who is compassionate and
loves the outdoors. They are hard-working, and able to solve problems effectively. They also have
some skills relevant to building community relationships and acting as a school liaison: in addition to
facilitating three workshops a week, this individual will be responsible for ongoing recruitment and
enrollment of 10th and 11th graders in our community.

Big Sky Youth Empowerment (BYEP) is a nonprofit organization that has served the young people in
the Gallatin Valley for the past 20 years. BYEP is a unique organization, prioritizing a work environment

improving the lives of our participants because of the excellence and passion of our Programs Team.

● Design and facilitate developmentally appropriate social-emotional life skills curriculum to
10th and 11th graders presenting with a variety of risk factors in a small group setting
● Supervise and participate in group experiential adventures guided by local adventure
partners
● Recruit, interview and enroll new participants
● Advise and interact one-on-one with participants in need of social emotional support and
connect with additional resources when appropriate
● Participate in recruiting, interviewing, training, and supervising a dynamic staff of 30-40
volunteer mentors
● Communicate professionally with participants, families, community partners, and other key
stakeholders
● Collaborate and communicate with colleagues to effectively manage logistics and program
delivery
● Represent Big Sky Youth Empowerment at various fundraising events and community
stakeholder meetings
● Other tasks as required to fulfill the position and mission of BYEP
