Overview
BYEP is seeking a Mental Health Counselor to provide crisis intervention and therapeutic support to youth participants aged 11-18. BYEP offers free mental health services to participants, eliminating financial and insurance barriers to care. This role requires on-site presence for staff meetings, counseling sessions, and crisis management during program hours. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a counseling caseload, completing clinical documentation, collaborating with program staff and external providers, and facilitating referrals when needed. BYEP offers a supportive and collaborative environment where counselors have access to unique opportunities for professional growth, community engagement, outdoor adventures, and hands-on involvement in youth empowerment activities.

About Big Sky Youth Empowerment
Big Sky Youth Empowerment (BYEP) is a nonprofit adventure-based mentoring program in Bozeman, Montana, that has served vulnerable youth in the Gallatin Valley for the past 24 years. BYEP offers a group social emotional life skills curriculum paired with outdoor adventures to youth in grades 7-12, serving around 150 teens annually. Our mission is to create a transformative community where vulnerable teenagers experience belonging, purpose, and well-being through group mentorship, adventure, and connection with the natural world.
