Camp Chateaugay is located in the Northern Adirondacks of New York on the beautiful shores of Chateaugay Lake. We are a traditional children’s co-ed camp with an incredible collection of activities and facilities.

One amazing program we offer is the Wilderness Program. The program is designed specifically for creating deep and lasting friendships and for creating self-esteem opportunities based on independence and accomplishment. Wilderness staff leaders become ready with tools to create a safe, fun filled, happy and meaningful environment.

We are looking for a Wilderness Trip leader. Ideally a college-level student (21+ years old) that is interested in having one of the best summers of their lives. Camp dates are June 13th -August 9th. Salary includes room and board and r/t travel to camp.

Qualifications:

Camp Chateaugay has two openings for Wilderness Trip leaders. You must have a strong level of experience in the Wilderness hiking or canoeing. You must also have experience leading trips.

Your trip leading experience can be in any Wilderness area, but experience in the Adirondacks is a plus.

If you have Wilderness First aid that is a plus. If not, we will provide a Responding to Emergency Red Cross course at camp. We will also be able to provide you with a Lifeguarding course once you arrive
