Overview

Camp Fire Snohomish County is looking to fill our full time opening for our Leadership and Outdoor Education Coordinator at Camp Killoqua. This individual will work closely with our small team in a tight knit collaborative style work community. This individual will report to our Senior Director of Camp Operations and Program Development.
The major facets of this position include:
Outdoor education program is planned, coordinated, and staffed. Paid staff is recruited, interviewed, hired, trained, and supervised. Outdoor education curriculum is updated and enhanced to meet or exceed state teaching standards.
Leadership program is updated to meet current Camp Fire and DEI standards. Develop and coordinate our summer Counselor in Training (CIT) and Day Camp Assistant (DCA) program. Create and manage school year teen leadership programs.
Serves as Assistant Camp Director during our summer camp programs. Works closely with the Summer program and Retreat coordinator to manage summer programs. Helps with rental groups and school year events as assigned.
The school year work week will generally be Monday-Friday. The summer hours are typical to an overnight summer program. There is not a work from home or remote work option for this position.

Qualifications:

Ideal applicants will have had supervisory experience in a summer camp setting, have a background in outdoor education, have customer service skills, and willing to learn, adapt and grow with our organization.

Preferred Skills:

Preferred certifications include First Aid/CPR, ACCT level 1, American Red Cross Lifeguard, Horsemanship Experience. These are not required to apply, and we certainly don’t expect you to have all of them

About Camp Killoqua

Located on 185 acres of forest, wetlands and waterfront, Killoqua provides a unique outdoor experience for youth and adults. Killoqua’s programs are open to all. We strive to be inclusive; acceptance and participation is open to everyone regardless of race, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, sexual orientation or other aspect of diversity. Camp Killoqua offers a residential outdoor environmental educational experience for students in the 5th or 6th grade from public, private and parochial schools. A full-service program, including ecology classes, accommodations, meals, recreation and evening activities are offered in a camp setting. All program activities are led by trained instructors and facilitators and are interactive, hands-on and multi-sensory lessons and activities. All programs use an investigative approach. Camp Killoqua also offers a wide variety of summer camp programs for campers in grades K-12.
