Overview
Camp Manito-wish YMCA is seeking a full-time, year-round Wilderness Risk Director. Camp Manito-wish YMCA is a 106-year-old overnight camp located in Boulder Junction, WI focusing on wilderness tripping and leadership development. Serving over 4,000 participants annually, this position provides overall direction to the Outpost, Leadership, and related support areas to ensure that all delivery systems are of the highest quality, engages strategic planning, and incorporates character and leadership development through the Manito-wish collaborative leadership model. Programs include 14–45-day canoeing, backpacking or sea kayaking trips to destinations such as Isle Royale National Park, Quetico Provincial Park, Lake Nipigon, Northern Saskatchewan, Nunavut and Alaska. The Wilderness Risk Director ensures program excellence and creates a culture of belonging for all campers and staff through the Manito-wish collaborative leadership model, character development and wilderness travel.
