You will be responsible for all aspects of running wilderness trips of varying duration, from overnight to two-week trips. Nebagamon paddles the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Quetico Provincial Park and rivers around the upper midwest. Backpacking trips are on the Superior Hiking Trail, Isle Royale National Park, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Mountain Biking takes place on the COGGS Trails in Duluth, MN and CAMBA Trails near Hayward, WI. Responsibilities include food packout (we take great food out on trail – frybakes), health supervision, route planning, and counseling of groups of 7 to 10 boys, as well as other associated tasks. Trips are always led with two staff members. Applicants should have experience with canoeing and hiking. Mountain Biking experience is a plus. Leaders must be certified Wilderness First Responders and LFG. Wilderness Trip leaders can expect to get 40+ nights out on trail while employed. Pay begins at $3000 and up DOE, Travel Stipend, WFR reimbursements, LFG reimbursements.

About Camp Nebagamon
Founded in 1929, Camp Nebagamon is located in the heart of the Northwood’s in NW Wisconsin. We enroll 240 boys, grades three through nine, for four or eight week sessions. We are currently seeking wilderness trip leaders for the summer of 2022. We have an extensive wilderness tripping program that leads approximately 90 canoeing, hiking and biking trips a summer. The trips range in length from overnight to 13 night “Big Trips.” Camp Nebagamon employs 17 women and men to lead our wilderness trips.
