As a member of the leadership team, the Operations and Facilities Director is responsible for leadership, strategy, management, coordination, and oversight of Canyonlands Field Institute’s (CFI’s) operations and facilities. The Operations and Facilities Director will coordinate with Board of Trustee committees, staff and vendors to ensure that all operations activities and facility conditions are consistent and effective.

The Operations and Facilities Director will provide strategic direction to the logistics of programs, commercial assets, and facilities; create and implement an annual budget and plan; manage routine maintenance of vehicles and facilities; develop procedures for risk management and health and safety of staff and participants. The Director will serve on pertinent board-staff committees as needed and meet with vendors and customers periodically as CFI representative.

Required Skills:

Permanent resident within 1 hour of CFI office
Positive attitude, prompt, strong work ethic, flexible, good sense of humor and fairness
Current WFR and CPR
Previous experience with logistics, operations, trail work and maintenance.
Good driving record. Pass a DOT medical exam every two years.
