About Canyonlands Field Institute

Canyonlands Field Institute (CFI) is a 501(c)( 3) nonprofit outdoor education organization and licensed outfitter located in the red rock country of Moab, Utah. CFI operates by permits in partnership with the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, States of Utah and Colorado, and the Navajo Nation.

We encourage people of all ages to experience wild nature directly -- with few of the trappings of modern life -- through hiking, camping, nature and day tours, and river running. Thousands of adults, families, students, and their teachers have participated in our outdoor education programs over the last 30 years while studying natural and cultural history, public lands management and current issues, writing, and Leave No Trace practices.
