The Christ School Outdoor Program seeks a part-time kayaking coach for our spring season. This individual will assist the head coach in planning and implementing practices, both on our lake and on class 2/3 rivers in the area (French Broad, Tuckaseegee, Green River, etc.). It is most important that applicants work well with youth and are comfortable teaching others kayaking skills and technique. Adaptability, coachability, hard-work ethic, time-management skills, and a sense of humor are crucial to this role. Since Christ School is an all-boys boarding school, being able to cultivate trust and a good rapport with young men is crucial.

This role is ideal for outdoor educators seeking experience in trip planning, risk management, kayaking skills, and teaching under the mentorship of our head coach (who is an SWRT and a ACA level 4 instructor) and from other members of our Outdoor Program staff.
