Seeking outdoor educators who are excited to bring nature based learning to urban children as part of their public school day! Work takes place in three settings: On our campus (a farm and environmental education center in a State Park), at city schools, using their schoolyard as the home base for environmental education, and at City Parks, taking 6th graders on full day field trips to learn, play, build character, and develop new skills. Age range is preK – 8th grade and applicants with a preference for specific age ranges are welcome. Common Ground offers children in grades K – 8 the opportunity to learn, explore, have adventures, and make friends on our urban farm and forest site, located in West Rock Park. Activities include science and nature lessons, healthy cooking, farm-based activities (gardening and animals), nature arts projects, hiking, and games!
