Overview

AmeriCorps Field Crews with Conservation Corps Minnesota and Iowa:

• Gain new skills
• Protect the Environment
• Meet New People
• Work Hard
• Serve The Community
• Build Professional Pathways

We accomplish this by working on a variety of outdoor projects including habitat restoration, trail construction and maintenance, tree planting/forestry, basic carpentry, invasive species management and other project work. The AmeriCorps Field Crew program prioritizes personal and professional growth while teaching hands-on conservation work and skills in the field. Members develop technical skills throughout their term while completing challenging and impactful projects outdoors.

Members have opportunities to meet new people, get outdoors and challenge themselves physically while working in partnership with public land management agencies such as the State Department of Natural Resources, US Fish & Wildlife Service, National Park Service, cities, counties, and trail associations. Projects occur throughout the Midwest, including urban and wilderness settings. No previous experience with natural resources or environmental science is required to join.
