Communications and Support
Take the lead in communicating with Parents of Trekkers, serve as the point of contact for parents who have registered for CGE’s summer programming, ensuring they are prepared to begin a trek This includes phone calls, emails, assisting with travel logistics and forms.
Take the lead in communicating with our partner organizations who use our Basecamp property and other CGE resources. These partnerships currently include NOLS Wilderness Medicine, Forest Stewards Guild, Chizh for Cheii, Ancestral Lands, and others.
Assist the Director of Education and other staff in organizing logistics for our school treks, including paperwork and communication about the trek.
Assist in recruiting and identification of participants and families for Cottonwood Gulch Summer Programs.
Write content for both print and web including the company website, blog, brochures, and newsletter.
Monitor the Cottonwood Gulch’s social media and online presence.
Play a prominent role in upholding our mission, values, policies, and procedures by creating a healthy, supportive staff culture.
Help organize and implement promotional events.
Make sure that all promotional and marketing materials meet the company’s brand identity strategy.
Field, Administrative, and other duties
Be a trek leader for 20% of the time, working in partnership with school programs and summer programs.
Respond to the needs of the organization consistent with the philosophy of “see a job and do it.”
Contribute to the care and well-being of the organization’s gear and property.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age by the position start date and possess a valid driver’s license. Must have a clean driving history and be able to meet the criteria for CGE vehicle insurance coverage.
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, English, public relations, outdoor education, environmental science, journalism, related field, or equivalent years of professional experience.
Experience building and maintaining partnerships with individuals and organizations in a professional setting.
Must be able to spend multiple days at a time in the field, including overnight hours. Work hours are frequently outside of traditional office hours.
Strong organizational skills, and ability to create schedules.
Must have excellent communication skills, including phone conversations, writing, and editing skills.
Experience with Google Drive, Adobe products, and Microsoft Office
