Backpacking Leaders for Small Group of 12th Graders, Eastside College Preparatory Outdoor Program, East Palo Alto
from May 17 (Pre-trip planning meeting) to 21, 2022 – Salary: $1,000
Co-lead a group of 10 students on a 4-day backpacking base camp trip (backpack in 2.5 miles with day hikes from base camp) in the Tahoe National Forest; promote positive and enthusiastic environment and provide students with leadership and team-building opportunities that encourage personal growth, connections with other students, and appreciation for, and stewardship of the environment.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as an instructor on multi-day backpacking expeditions;
• Current Wilderness First Responder certification;
• Age 21 or older and current driver’s license and excellent driving record;
• Enthusiastic about providing a positive first-time backpacking experience for a diverse group of urban 12th graders;
• Fully vaccinated for Covid
