Overview

The Guide Manager position will be responsible for managing, scheduling, coordinating, and facilitating the day-to-day guided activities with guides and guests. The Guide Manager must demonstrate strong communication skills and superior leadership abilities. This position requires a background in outdoor leadership, general management, experience in guiding an array of outdoor activities, general safety protocol and emergency practices, general gear maintenance and principles. The Guide Manager will be responsible for creating and meeting and/or exceeding planned objectives for guest satisfaction and overall experience. The Guide Manager should provide exemplary service examples for all staff to follow, establish goals and good practices for guides and help guides deliver an exemplary product and the “Eleven” ethos.

Responsibilities:

Lead the guide team.

Manage, hire and train the guide team.

Assign and manage the guide team’s day to day schedules, assignments and responsibilities.

Create and execute standard operating procedures to clarify and support all aspects of the guide operations.

Manage and maintain the organization, cleanliness, operability, maintenance and standards of care for the guide equipment, guide bodega and surrounding area.

Work as a leader on the Rio Palena Lodge team to execute once in a lifetime experience for guests by anticipating guest needs, tailoring services to guest preferences and exceeding expectations.

Contribute to product development efforts in conjunction with Grassy Creek and Eleven Teams.

Work to further the Eleven product by questioning operational norms, proposing solutions, and striving to innovate and streamline the Eleven operation in Chile.

Qualifications:

Five+ years of experience within a leadership role in an outdoor / adventure-based organization.

Experience effectively managing a complete team of guides.

Experience with helicopters or fixed wing aircraft.

Efficient and effective time management skills.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word and Google Drive.
