Develops and presents a variety of outdoor recreation programming, activities, and events in assigned areas. Supervises Program Specialist and other support staff. Advocates for assigned areas in the community on behalf of Five Rivers MetroParks (FRMP). Collaborates within the agency to develop outdoor recreation facilities.
The ideal candidate will have experience with outdoor recreation programming and supervision with a strong skillset in paddlesports that includes experience with a variety of paddlecraft in whitewater and flatwater with an emphasis on leading groups and instructing in these environments. They will have a strong understanding of moving water safety and reading rivers. They will have outdoor industry knowledge and relationships and comfort advocating within the community. They will also have general skills in hiking/backpacking/camping, cycling/mountain biking, and/or fishing, etc. and familiarity planning events and outreach. They will have the ability to build strong rapport with the public and be comfortable with public speaking. They will have good office skills along with an understanding of marketing and promotions tactics.
