Overview

The French Broad River Academy (FBRA) is an independent, split-gender middle school with two campuses in Asheville, NC. FBRA is seeking candidates who are interested in teaching middle school students in and out of the classroom at both the Girls Program and the Boys Program. The core academic subjects at the FBRA campuses include: Math, Science, Spanish, Humanities, English Language Arts, and Social Studies. Staff at FBRA serve in multiple roles; as teachers of a core academic subject, outdoor trip leaders for day and overnight adventure-based field experiences, and for additional duties such as teaching PE & electives. Additional administrative and “head of” duties may be available in addition to the core staff position for interested candidates. For the 2023-2024 school year, FBRA is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Teacher and Outdoor Trip Leader. Positions are open at each program and we are looking for general applications at this time. Candidates of any gender are welcome to apply for either program, and the application includes a space to indicate preferences.

We work hard and we expect a lot of our teachers, and we find that the rewards of this calling are infinite.

First priority will be given to candidates who apply by Monday, April 10. After this date, applications and interviews will continue on a rolling basis until positions are filled.
