Overview

We are seeking an inspiring and empowering leader and effective administrator to become the next Program Director of the French Broad River Academy Boys School. The FBRA Program Director is responsible for the safety and oversight of the entire FBRA academic, outdoor, and international middle school program. This unique and challenging role combines the duties of a traditional school principal with those of an outdoor program director, as well as an international program coordinator. The Program Director position is supported by a dedicated administration team that consists of an Outdoor Program Director, an Academic Director, Dean of Students, and Admissions Director. The FBRA Program Director also serves as a non-voting member of the FBRA Board of Trustees.

Candidates must possess highly effective communication and collaboration skills, serve as a successful role model, demonstrate leadership and administrative experience, and have an interest and/or willingness to participate in and develop skills and certifications in the following areas:

Individual academic growth
Supervision of the academic growth of entire staff
International travel
Spanish language
Outdoor education including but not limited to whitewater canoeing, skiing, climbing, hiking, and overnight camping trips
Basic Wilderness First Aid or First Responder (we will certify and re-certify)
Lifeguard certification (we will certify and re-certify)

Prerequisites: at minimum, an undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year college, a safe driving record.

Type of employment: Full-time, 12 months
Dates of employment: Academic year 2021/2022 starting on July 1, 2021, and ending on June 30, 2022
Salary: Commensurate with experience, licensure, and training.
