The Director of Outdoor Programs provides leadership and management for Gonzaga Outdoors, the university’s co-curricular outdoor recreation education program. The director is tasked with setting a comprehensive strategic direction, budgetary oversite and fund development, risk management, and programmatic innovation informed by Gonzaga’s Jesuit, Catholic mission and the Student Affairs Division priorities of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Well-being and Flourishing, and an Integrated Approach to Student Learning and Development. Together with the staff team and student leaders, this position guides all aspects of the program, assessment, and key partnerships in service to the departmental mission. The director ensures that Gonzaga Outdoors programs adopt an inclusive approach to best serve and increasingly diverse generation of Gonzaga students. This position supervises the GU Outdoors staff, is a member of the Student Affairs Division leadership team, and reports to the Dean for Student Development within the Division of Student Affairs.
