Overview

Basic Duties: Wrangler is responsible for the care, keeping, health, and maintenance of all leased and owned horses (14-20) on camp property during the camp season. Wrangler will be expected to rise early every morning to take care of horses, and to have horses fed, saddled, and ready for morning trail rides on riding days (2-3 days per camp week). Wrangler will be responsible for maintaining tack, keeping the tack room clean and organized, and inspecting the horse herd daily for signs of injury or illness. Wrangler is responsible for basic horse first aid and administering of medicine, wraps, and other medical care as needed. Will be responsible for pasture maintenance and fence repair as needed throughout the summer. Wrangler will be in charge of all horsemanship instruction and is expected to teach basic riding skills in the arena and on the trails with a professional and cheerful attitude.

Required Skills:

Must be comfortable around kids and able to talk to kids about riding and give riding instructions. Must pass a background check.
