Overview
The High Mountain Institute is seeking a Kitchen Manager. This is a year-round position, .75 – full time, which includes responsibilities in the areas of: on-campus food service, menu planning, food ordering, budgeting, training adults and students, and kitchen curriculum development.
Position Details:
– Oversee food service for all HMI programs
– Cook meals and order food for 75+ students and employees (and larger events for approx. ~200 people 2+ times per year)
– Plan creative menus including dietary restrictions with high level of detail
– Supervise and train faculty, staff, and apprentices on kitchen systems and meal prep
– Teach students to meal plan and cook
– Intensive on then off schedule, including weekends and nights
– Oversee health code compliance
– Manage on-campus food budget
– Manage and oversee campus food allergy plan
– Oversee general nutrition
– Provide varied and healthy meals
– Health Insurance provided
– Retirement benefits (TIAA-CREF) after 1 year
– Starting salary $27,000 – $45,000 DOE
– Start date: May 2022

- Computer Skills (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Wi
Required Skills:
Minimum Qualifications: 1-2 years of prior food service experience, experience supervising others in a food service setting, and experience cooking for large groups.
