The High Mountain Institute (HMI) is seeking a Science and Residential Life Faculty, a full-time position for the HMI Semester. Responsibilities include teaching Natural Science, leading wilderness expeditions, and managing and running the residential life program.

Position Responsibilities:
– Co-teach Natural Science each semester
– Co-lead wilderness expeditions in the Rocky Mountains and canyons of southern Utah (7 weeks per year)
– Collaborate with the Dean of Students to organize residential life activities, maintain residential life schedules, and create a positive residential life experience for HMI semester students
– Consistently refine and improve the residential life curriculum and student experience
– Mentor student leaders (cabin heads)
– Participate in weekly residential responsibilities, including planning and supervising Saturday programming while students are on campus.
– Advise 4-6 students per semester

– Competitive salary, $29,000 – $43,455 depending on experience +on-campus housing (stipend if a campus residence is unavailable)

Qualifications:

BA or higher, willingness to acquire and maintain current WFR & CPR certifications, prior science teaching experience, prior experience leading in a wilderness setting, enthusiasm for working with teenagers in a residential setting. Must have a willingness to work non-traditional hours (including evenings and weekends). Criminal and driving background check required.
