Job Summary/Purpose::
The position is responsible for operations, guide staffing & trip logistics. The OM helps hire, train, and oversee the instructor team (5-15 people depending on the season) and the field equipment and food. The OM is responsible for trip equipment, staff uniforms, food budgets, purchasing plans, and managing inventory. The OM is responsible for gear maintenance, repair, tracking, packing, and food prep/packing. The OM assists in planning and implementing annual business strategies and systems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Annual business plans – work with the owner and managing director to create and execute a shared vision. Assist MD in creating and directing annual budget and operating plans.
Human Resources – screen, interview, hire, on-board and support staff; organize staff training sessions and manage all training material.
Manage People – manage, coach and communicate with logistics personnel and instructors.
Manage all pre/post trip communications via email, phone and registration system. Trip volume ranges from 4–12 per week in the summer and 1-4 in the winter.
Permit Management – manage deadlines, submit applications, and post use reporting for multiple land management agencies throughout the year. Maintain a working knowledge of active permits and locations where we can run courses.
Office/Administrative – support participant registration, communication, course calendars, guide scheduling, and course development.
Organize, frame, and develop risk management practices for the company.
Run pre-trip briefings and post-trip debriefs, prepare course packets & review course reports.
Course/Guide Gear – maintain condition of internal course gear, pack course gear, track in-field inventory, manage repairs and replacements, stock first aid supplies/kits.
Food Department – plan, purchase and pack course food inventory, maintain cleanliness of food storage areas, create/maintain a nutritious menu.

Professional experience in the outdoor education/guide/outfitter industry.
2-3 years staff management and/or administrative support work, preferably in the outdoor industry.
Personal and professional experience with and passion for outdoor recreation, specifically rock climbing, backpacking, mountaineering, and winter recreation.
Familiarity with outdoor professional organizations like the AMGA, AIARE, NOLS, LNT, and others including their training and... (see in full on website)

Required Skills:

Physical Requirements:
The ability to wash, clean and repair gear, spend hours on your feet, use a ladder, to lift climbing equipment in boxes up to 45 lbs., and to spend hours on the computer.

Preferred Skills:

Google Teams experience (gmail, shared drives, admin console)
Experience with WordPress and registration systems (Fareharbor, PayPal, etc.)..
Familiarity with rock climbing, mountaineering, and skiing destinations and areas in Washington and Oregon.
