Overview

The Keewaydin Environmental Education Center (KEEC) on Lake Dunmore in Salisbury VT is seeking environmental educators for our spring session beginning April 13th running through May 30th.

Teach & work with small groups of 5th & 6th grade students Monday through Friday, in 5-day, 4 night, residential program focusing on human, plant and animal communities. Lead daily field investigations & evening programs in natural science, local history, human impact & land-use.

$575/week plus room & board. (Opportunities exist for employment beyond the KEEC season at our summer camps, and potentially into the fall KEEC season through October 13th.)

Qualifications:

Ideal applicants should possess a college degree and background in natural history, sciences, and environmental education or have experience working with children in an outdoor setting. Staff must be at least 21 years of age. CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

The Keewaydin Environmental Education Center (KEEC) offers hands-on, experiential learning in a variety of natural habitats, all within only a few miles of our campus in Salisbury, Vermont. Our educational values are rooted in the concept of community and we strive to empower students with a better understanding of how their personal daily decisions can affect the environment. Drawing from the natural world in which we live and study, we incorporate history, science, math, language arts, geology, and physical education into a series of investigations that integrate with school curricula.
