Keystone Science School is hiring Summer Camp Assistant Counselors to facilitate day camp programs. Assistant Counselors are responsible for assisting in teaching science curriculum, leading camp activities (hiking, camping, songs, skits, archery, etc.), facilitating meals and evening programs, and completion of manual labor tasks on a rotating basis.
You’ll work collaboratively with a fun and mission-driven team that cares about youth science and outdoor education, and your work will positively and directly impact the thousands of campers that visit KSS campus each summer. This position requires First Aid and CPR certification, and may require a valid drivers license/excellent driving record.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Counselors in overseeing a group of up to 26 children
Plan, prepare, and teach grade appropriate curriculum and activities
Facilitate experiences with professional contractors
Maintain high standards for safety and risk management
Dates of Employment and Schedule
May 23, 2022 – August 13, 2022. Instructors will generally work 6+ days per week during the summer.
Compensation, Benefits, and Housing
The salary base rate is $450 per week with a 10% boost for Spanish speakers. Housing (for 18+) and food is provided at no cost. Required COVID 19 Vaccine Policy
Keystone Science School has adopted a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine policy. Individuals hired after January 1, 2022 are required to be either fully vaccinated or partially vaccinated before their start dates. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the revocation of the employment offer.
Employees in need of an exemption from this policy due to a medical reason, or because of a sincerely held religious belief must submit a completed Request for Accommodation form to the Human Resources Department to begin the accommodation process. Accommodations will be granted where they do not cause KSS undue hardship or pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others.
Required Education, Experience, and Certifications:
Current First Aid and CPR certifications, from an approved vendor, or the ability to obtain before the first day of employment.
Must be able to successfully pass a comprehensive background check.
Preferred Skill Sets:
Ability to communicate verbally and teach in Spanish.
Proficiency with Google Drive and CampSite camp management software.
Candidates age 21+ with a minimum of 5 years driving experience will be required to participate in and pass Van Driver Training, and they will be required to drive a 15-passenger van.
