Overview

Provides field and office support for all programs.
Assists Program Coordinator with project logistics and planning.
Is available to fulfill crew needs in the field.
Organizes and updates program database.
Provides assistance with fundraising, marketing, and other development activities as requested.
Acts as a positive role model for youth and young adults.
Consistently represents the Corps in a positive manner in the community.
Reports to the Corps Manager.

The Seasonal Corps Assistant is expected to work up to 30 hours per week. This position cannot exceed 30 hours during the work week. The Program Assistant will report to work Monday – Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The ideal start and end dates for this position is April 5 – September 3, 2021. This schedule may be modified due to weather, logistics, or other unforeseen circumstances.

An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. Successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED, required, supplemented by additional office administration coursework required.
Two years of experience in a directly related clerical or secretarial field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.

Required Skills:

Have excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Have the ability to work independently; be a self-starter.
Have the ability to adapt to both field and office environments.
Have experience with conservation techniques, construction, landscaping, and tool maintenance.
Have experience working with youth in the outdoor education field.
Have experience with conservation corps or similar programming experience.
