Overview

The Development & Communications Associate plays an essential role in strengthening MCC’s mission by connecting two core communities that make our work possible: the supporters who invest in youth development and conservation, and the young adults and youth who join our programs to grow as leaders through service. This position helps ensure that donors feel inspired by the impact of their generosity while members feel welcomed, informed, and excited to join MCC.

Working with the Director of Philanthropy, CEO, and program teams, the Associate supports fundraising campaigns and donor stewardship, while also producing recruitment materials and digital content that attract a diverse pool of program participants. They manage donor data and gift acknowledgments, assist with campaign messaging, and coordinate donor meetings and field visits that deepen supporters’ connection to the MCC experience. At the same time, the Associate collaborates with staff and crews to gather stories, photos, and field updates that highlight member growth, conservation outcomes, and the unique value of national service. They transform this content into compelling outreach materials—from newsletters and social posts to recruitment resources and annual reports—that elevate MCC’s brand and mission.

Ideal candidates are strong at data management, creative storytellers, and detail-oriented organizers who believe in the power of service to change lives. They are energized by building relationships, amplifying young adult voices, and helping ensure both donors and future members are excited to be part of the MCC community.
