GAIN PROFESSIONAL JOB SKILLS, CONTRIBUTE TO CLIMATE RESILIENCE, AND LAUNCH YOUR WILDLAND FIRE CAREER!

MCC is hiring Women’s Fuels & Fire Crew Members! We focus on the growth of our members, transferable job skills, and making a positive impact on the climate and environment. Crew Members and their crews will camp while working on physically demanding conservation projects across the Northern Rockies and Plains. This crew is for anyone who identifies as a woman. We welcome trans applicants who are comfortable in a female-identifying space. This crew will work with the Wyoming Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for the majority of the season. Work will consist of fuels mitigation projects with heavy chainsaw use. Participants will receive basic wildland fire qualifications including a nationally recognized chainsaw certification, basic wildland firefighting classes (S130, S190), in addition to having an opportunity to receive a wildland fire red card. About Montana Conservation Corps

Montana Conservation Corps' (MCC) mission is to inspire young people through hands-on conservation service to be leaders, stewards of the land and engaged citizens who improve their communities. Founded in 1991, MCC is a private, nonprofit organization. There are 4 regions, with approximately 40 staff and 300 members who serve each year in leader, member or intern positions. MCC receives Federal grant money through the Corporation for National & Community Service. This grant is used to provide participant stipends and education awards, as well as to support our programming: offering leadership development to Leaders and Members. MCC offers crew-based programming that uses natural resource and community service projects to foster personal and crew development. While most of the work we accomplish is in the field, our main goal is not to build trails but to help members develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to be active citizens in their community.
