The Logistics Coordinator (LC) will work with and in support of the Operations Manager (OM) through the summer 2022 operating season. The LC will primarily work opposite of the OM in managing day to day operations at the MWS base. This will include maintaining equipment inventory, supporting course events, planning and packing expedition food, and supporting Interns and program supervisory staff.
The LC will facilitate course start equipment and food packing processes for staff and students as well as the course end equipment de-issue and cleaning process, and they will also help to facilitate field re-rations and expedition group drop-offs and pick-ups.
21 Years of age or older at time of application
Wilderness First Responder (minimum 72-hour course) and CPR certifications required
Valid driver's license required. Acceptable driving record and an acceptable criminal history, as verified through pre-hire driving record and criminal background checks
Outdoor education or Outfitting logistics experience preferred
Ability to frequently carry items weighing up to 50-60 pounds
Ability to work on feet most days, often for long hours
Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may require work early in the morning or late at night
Reflect a commitment to the conservation of wild places and a personal dedication to exploring and enjoying the wilderness
Computer skills: competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs
Experience driving a 12-15 passenger van or similar multi-occupant vehicle
Experience working with or instructing youth (ages 14-18) preferred
Experience working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback from colleagues
Strong verbal and written communication skills
