Directs all programming aspects of the Wilderness Medicine Wilderness EMT program ensuring program quality for students, staff, and external entities. (13,000 student days) Coordinates the interdepartmental program support for the Wilderness Medicine and Rescue Semester (WMR) and Wilderness Medicine Expedition courses (8,000 student days). Supervises the facilities team, operations and strategic planning at the Wyss Wilderness Medicine Campus. Manages communication with a broad range of external audiences including state and national EMS agencies, hospitals, media, representatives from the outdoor industry, and Wilderness Medicine staff and students.
This job position requires a diverse combination of skills. In addition to exceptional communication, organizational, managerial and facilitation skills, the position also requires a strong background in wilderness and emergency medicine practice and education, and comfort and expertise navigating bureaucracy at a state and national level.
