Overview

The NCOBS Logistics Manager (LM) position is a basecamp leadership role that supports the NCOBS Program Director (PD). The LM is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the logistical department by supporting the basecamp and courses in the field. This includes the management and supervision of all warehouse and logistics facilities along with their upkeep and organization; overseeing gear orders, maintenance, and course pack-outs; overseeing food and consumable orders, inventory, and pack-outs; managing vehicle upkeep, course resupply scheduling, and transportation logistics; and the supervision of an Assistant Logistics Manager and small team of Logistics Coordinators.

Seasonal Contract | $14,500 – $15,500 depending on prior experience

Location | Pisgah National Forrest outside Brevard, NC – this is a remote, community living situation located approx. 1 hour outside of Asheville, NC. Due to the requirements of the position, we ask that our Logistics Manager lives on-site at our base camp facility.

Qualifications:

Minimum one year working for Outward Bound or related wilderness expedition programs. Preference given to candidates with prior logistics management experience.
Personal and professional values consistent with the NCOBS mission, values, and principles.
Strong presentation, writing, and computer skills.
Effective leadership, supervisory, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Required Skills:

Must be able to drive a 15-passenger van with a box trailer; Must possess a clean motor vehicle record.
Experience with community living.
Able to participate in all base activities; Able to lift 75 pounds.
Current WFA and CPR at minimum; WFR and CPR preferred.
Ability to pass background screening to work with youth

Preferred Skills:

Able to give and receive timely, effective oral and written feedback.
Strong personal initiative, motivation, and resourcefulness.
Business management skills including budget tracking and management.
Cooperative attitude and ability to be flexible.
