Nature of Work
Under general supervision, assists with maintenance, operating equipment, cleaning buildings and performing minor building repairs. Operation of the equipment involves the manipulation of the controls and attachments and includes routine care and maintenance of the equipment in the field. Performs other duties as assigned.

Examples of Work
General maintenance
Operates riding and push mowers, weed trimmer, pickup truck
Operates various hand tools
Answers questions from the public and enforces regulations
Is familiar with operating power machinery
Mows County park lands operating riding and push mowers
Cleans buildings, floors, bathrooms, sinks, etc.
Maintains buildings, signs and fences on property, performing minor interior and exterior repair
Maintains equipment and vehicles such as tractors, mowers, trucks, etc., changing oil, lubricating and making minor adjustments
Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Knowledge of the operating characteristics of assigned equipment
Knowledge of the work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with assigned equipment and operations
Knowledge of applicable traffic laws, ordinances and regulations involved in the operation of assigned equipment
Knowledge of the maintenance requirements of assigned equipment
Ability to understand written and verbal instructions
Ability to communicate with park users
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to make minor operating adjustments and to recognize operating deficiencies in assigned equipment

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience
Regular and reliable attendance is a necessary component of job/position. Individuals required to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver's license and be free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3) years.

Individuals will be required to complete a pre-employment and any potential post-accident drug test as these positions are deemed safety sensitive. Regardless of Minnesota statute, marijuana and other drugs
