Nature of Work
THIS IS A PROVISIONAL, TEMPORARY POSITION FOR TWO (2) YEARS ENDING ON 06/30/2027.

Provides technical support and education and outreach to the public relating to Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) programs and activities, as well as works with other agencies, organizations and individuals. Supports a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace.

Examples of Work
Assists with data collection, record keeping, and promotion of items related to safe drinking water, water monitoring, and groundwater protection programs in the 8-county area of Southeast Minnesota.
Conducts education and outreach to the public, county, and external agency partners, volunteers, and others on safe drinking water, water monitoring, and groundwater protection programming
Develops multi-media outreach materials including news outlet releases, social media content, newsletters, GIS storymaps, dashboards, videos, brochures, posters, and other documents.
Coordinates and facilitates meetings, workshops, and community events to support safe drinking water, water monitoring, and groundwater protection programs.
Provides technical guidance to the public related to groundwater, drinking water, and surface water quality in Southeast Minnesota.
Assists with data collection and management, GIS support, and mapping.
Assists in the preparation of water resources related grants, budgets, and reporting as required by federal, state, and local agencies.
Provides support for water resources programs.
Develops program educational and outreach materials.
Works on special projects.
Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in soil conservation, natural resources, agricultural science, communications, or related field.
OR

Associate degree from an accredited college in soil conservation, natural resources, agricultural science, communications, or related field and two (2) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.

OR

A combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years
