Overview

We are hiring instructors for a 6 night backpack in Joshua Tree with 7th graders. You are responsible for facilitating a safe, transformational, educational, and super fun journey for these students. You will facilitate an intro to backpacking curriculum, as well as any other lessons that inspire you and the students. During the trip, there is also a day of rock climbing led by our expert climbing managers.

Contract Dates: March 20-30th

Pay Rate:
Contract total: $2000!
Non-participant Day Rate: $123.75
Program Day Rate: $225 per day

Staff are responsible for providing personal transportation to all contracted locations. There is an option to fly in and have support with airport transportation. We do not offer travel stipends. While on programs, we provide all meals and accommodation (typically a campsite at the program location). While we do not currently have housing available off-program, we can often provide you with campsite accommodation on the nights before and after a program.

Qualifications:

Previous backpacking experience (personal and professional)
Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness First Aid
Previous experience working with youth
Strong skills in leadership, teamwork, time and risk management, organization, judgment, planning, and communication.
18+ years old
