Overview

We are hiring a team for our spring season running March-May! We facilitate 1-8 day outdoor experiences for school groups that incorporate backpacking, rock climbing, basecamping, challenge courses and more. We emphasize a balance of social, emotional, and environmental learning. This spring, our program areas are Joshua Tree, Channel Islands, Southern CA beaches, and Idyllwild.

This work requires positivity, creativity, organizational skills, professionalism, and a desire to learn and grow. You are responsible for risk management, teaching, facilitation, and leadership of small groups of students in the outdoors. We are looking for people who are willing to collaborate with a dynamic group of staff while at times working under limited direct supervision.

Staff are responsible for providing personal transportation to all contracted locations. We do not offer travel stipends. While on programs, we provide all meals and accommodation (typically a campsite at the program location). While we do not currently have housing available off-program, we can often provide you with reasonable accommodation on the nights before and after a program as well as between programs with a quick turn-around.

You are responsible for challenge course operations and risk management. This includes set-up/take-down, equipment inspection and inventory, briefings, course documentation, supervising instructors and belayers, and performing rescues as needed. May need to transport equipment to site in personal vehicle.
