Overview

Performs and/or assist in operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Establishes schedules of events as well as the rules and regulation to be observed. Types of duties include, but are not limited to, the following; Test water-skiing and boating equipment for safe operation; demonstrates equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities such as camping, swimming, and boating; assets ups gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments and practices games when such assignments require a practical recreation and sports facilities and equipment for security and general conditions; and schedules campsites, cabins, boat and other outdoor recreation equipment and area for us, with responsibility for seeing that they are vacated or retuned in good order. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Applicant must have experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activities which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with INquiries (NACI).

Required Skills:

This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.

Random drug testing may be required.

Preferred Skills:

This position will primarily be a trip planner and facilitator. Qualified applicants will display an outdoor resume with detailed trips in a variety of skills.

366 Force Support Squadron - From classes to trips, there is something for everyone! We offer a wide range of classes: learn how to ski, use a GPS, map and compass, or cook with a Dutch Oven. Near our Fam Camp, we also have an Archery Range and a Trap and Skeet Range. During the summer months, we offer a Yellowstone Trailer Program, and maintain 11 trailers at Sawtelle Mountain Resort, located 22 miles west of West Yellowstone, Montana and Yellowstone National Park. These trailers are self-contained, include cooking and eating utensils, and are ready for your enjoyment. Reservation dates vary from year to year, so call ODR for information. Personnel stationed at Mountain Home AFB may make walk-in reservations three working days prior to the nationwide reservation date. Idaho provides a dramatic backdrop for trips ranging from white water rafting and kayaking to cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. We offer mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, backpacking and snowshoeing.
