Overview

The Southern California Program Director (PD) leads our Joshua Tree programming. The PD will leverage a strong history of Outward Bound programming in Southern California to deliver safe, high quality programs, change lives through challenge and discovery, and mentor staff to do their best work. They will collaborate with the administrative office located in San Francisco to establish consistent programming, a highly trained instructor pool, and new school and non-profit partnerships, all through a lens of equity, while keeping safety of students as their highest priority. This position is a member of the Leadership Team and reports to the Director of Programs and Safety (DPS).

Qualifications:

Committed outdoor educator with Bachelor’s degree and/or 5-6 years’ experience in the outdoor education/experiential learning field or any similar combination of education and experience
Outward Bound or other wilderness expeditionary experience (OB, NOLS multi-day course or equivalent) is required.
Previous management experience is required.
Holds a current Wilderness First Responder, CPR and CA Epi certifications or able to get upon hire.
