Overview

In search of deckhands for a commercial salmon seining operation that will be fishing Kodiak Island, Alaska. Looking for individuals who can commit from mid-June to mid-September. Experience with commercial fishing, boats, or the ocean are always a plus, but not necessary. Must be hard-working, have a positive, team-player mindset, and not mind calling a 42-foot vessel with four people total aboard “home” for three+ months. The four members aboard include: The captain (skipper); two individuals on deck who help set and bring back the net; and someone who operates an outboard-driven skiff. An excellent learning and work experience. Pay is a percentage of total pounds of salmon put in for the season. All crew/deckhands are covered by insurance and must also sign a contract. No substance abuse issues will be tolerated. Besides catching fish, we will also all work together to keep the boat, skiff, and fishing gear in proper shape so the operation flows smoothly and efficiently. Please provide a resume with references.
