Overview
Picture this: You’re rolling into a new city every week. By morning, you’re teaching a kid to ride without training wheels for the first time—watching their face light up as they realize they’re actually doing it. By afternoon, you’re exploring a hidden trail, grabbing tacos at a local spot, or chasing sunset from a new vantage point. This is your life.
Pedal Kids USA is hiring adventurous, kid-loving coaches for our Travel Team—a rare gig that combines the freedom of life on the road with the deep satisfaction of changing young lives through biking. If you’ve ever dreamed of getting paid to travel, work outdoors, and witness daily breakthrough moments with kids ages 2–12, keep reading.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
You’ll crisscross the country in the Pedal Kids van, popping up in communities that are hungry for what you bring: high-energy bike camps that teach balance, grit, and pure joy on two wheels.
Your days will be split between coaching magic (running camps where wobbly toddlers become confident riders) and exploration time (since camps are either mornings or evenings, you’ll have half days to hike, eat, nap, read, or chase whatever adventure calls to you). You’ll troubleshoot flat tires and fussy campers with equal grace. You’ll build courses, maintain gear, charm local partners, and become the friendly face of Pedal Kids wherever you land.
Translation: You’re equal parts coach, road warrior, logistics ninja, and ambassador of stoke.
Who Thrives Here
You’re energized by variety, not drained by it. The idea of living out of a suitcase for weeks, working intimately with a small team, and pivoting when plans change? That sounds like freedom to you.
You’ve got a background that proves you can engage kids and stay cool under pressure—maybe you’re a:
Camp counselor who knows how to turn chaos into games
Touring musician or theater artist who’s taught workshops on the road
Outdoor educator who’s led trail crews or wilderness trips
Bikepacker or vanlifer with coaching or childcare chops
AmeriCorps alum, teaching artist, or anyone who’s wrangled groups of kids with skill and heart
What matters most: emotional intelligence, physical stamina, teamwork, and the ability to make a nervous 5-year-old feel like a superhero.

About Pedal Kids USA
Pedal Kids USA exists to create a happier, healthier world—one family at a time—by helping kids build confidence, independence, and joy through riding bikes. We believe bikes are a powerful tool for growth, so our programs intentionally blend bike skills with social-emotional learning like resilience, empathy, focus, and teamwork. Guided by our values of stewardship, trust, ownership, kindness, and enthusiasm, our coaches create safe, supportive spaces where kids are encouraged to try hard things, celebrate progress, and grow both on and off the bike.
