We provide an enriching program that helps young adults improve their lives. Recovery Guides teach a wide variety of coping strategies and emotional regulation skills to our clients, empower clients to take responsibility for their actions, promote and encourage clients to make healthy decisions and positively motivate clients by modeling healthy behavior.

This is a great opportunity for applicants with a bachelor’s degree in social work or related mental health field and personal and/or professional experience with 12 Step Recovery, Substance Abuse Treatment, Mental Health Treatment and/or Wilderness Therapy.

Work as part of an integrative treatment team implementing compassionate clinical care
Facilitate therapeutic interventions, process groups, mindfulness sessions and educational groups
Help clients navigate an interactive schedule which includes education, sports, meditation, yoga and adventure activities
Lead clients on overnight adventure activities (hiking, camping, canoeing)
Provide a high level of physical and emotional safety to our clients

Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age

· Must be willing to work 7 ½ consecutive days on shift followed by 6 ½ days off

· Must have a High School diploma (or equivalent)

· Strong communication and de-escalation skills

· Must either have a current Adult CPR/Basic First Aid/AED certification and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification or be willing to complete Red Oak’s provided training. Wilderness First Responder or higher medical certification? Even better!
